As I closed my laptop wrapping up my last exam in hopes I will graduate before the summer, i let a big sigh out and the first thing that came out of my mouth: ‘’ I can finally lose weight and exercise. ‘’
I had one intention for the summer and that was to be active. It’s been over a year that I had been consuming gym content and there was that feeling that was brewing ever since then. I wanted to be like the girls who are constantly on the go, moving, eating healthy, pilates and just out there outside being ACTIVE. I wanted to be that girl, that was my aspiration and inspiration.
I wanted to feel good in my body, I wanted to feel and look exact the way my brain thinks I look like. (body dysmorphia helloo?!)
One night, as I was on my way home after a long shift a piece of my trousers got stuck to my bike that led me having to walk 1,5-hour home. Before I even know the next 4 days I was walking 2 hours a day, cycling for an hour and on 4th day I decided to go for a run. I felt so liberated, alive, healthy and ACTIVE.
I decided I wanted to continue this momentum and start running weekly. It’s been four weeks and this is the longest I have commited myself to something that I actually love. I already tried running last year but that didn’t work out.
I love how running has made me feel. I feel alive, healthy and my nervous system and stress levels cal, down. An unecpected chapter, one that I absolutely love and glad it has arrived.
Summer hasn’t ended yet, so far so GOOD!
